Freedom-to-operate

A life science company sought assistance developing patent strategies.
They requested a freedom-to-operate study and protection for their inventions.

Based on detailed technical description of the technology, the freedom-to-operate study was started. The search yielded a long list of patent documents. Differences were documented and potentially relevant patent documents were studied in greater depth. It was concluded that there were no third-party patent surprises.

To secure patent protection for their inventions, a list of patent ideas was generated. With the results of a literature search and with examples, patent filings were prepared. Upon conclusion of the project, the client had a clear patent strategy in place in a short time span.
